posted July 3rd, 2009
Michael Relf, Ph.D., RN, associate professor at the School of Nursing, was featured on News 14 talking about a new set of challenges for health care providers posed by progress in treating HIV/AIDS.
"One of the challenges that we are facing is HIV has moved from a disease of chronicity to where individuals are living healthy and good, quality lives. ... As people are living longer, the natural evolution of wanting to have families, engaging in intimacy with partners, preventing transmission of disease, preventing acquiring new diseases, are becoming some of the current challenges we are facing in health care," he said.
