Media Spotlight: ABC 11 highlights Pompe research

This report highlights Duke’s role in the development of Myozyme, the treatment for Pompe disease, the genetic disorder featured in the new film “Extraordinary Measures.”
The report features a young patient Clay Bowden, who receives treatment at Duke.
Priya Kishnani, M.D., professor of pediatrics, who led clinical trials for the treatment, comments in the video, “Having watched many babies with Pompe die in the past throughout my career, to now see them meeting motor milestones, going to school, being typical regular kids is a very humbling experience.”
