Kornbluth named vice dean for research

Sally Kornbluth, Ph.D., will become vice dean for research effective Aug. 1.
She replaces Gene Oddone, M.D., MHSc., who is stepping down to focus on his work as program director for the Center for Health Services Research in Primary Care at the Durham VA. He will continue to work with the School of Medicine’s administration in the leadership of the K-awardee mentorship program and the Clinical Research Training Program.
Kornbluth, James B. Duke Professor of Pharmacology and Cancer Biology, joined the Duke faculty in 1994. She has been vice dean for basic sciences for the past three years.
